Their ability to maintain polarization and provide high pulse fidelity makes them suitable for experiments requiring precise optical phase control and high signal-to-noise ratios . Pulse and Short-Pulse Applications Specialized PMFAs, such as sub-picosecond fiber amplifiers, are used in ultrafast optics and research requiring short pulse widths (down to 300 fs). These amplifiers maintain high polarization extinction ratios (>22 dB) and low amplified spontaneous emission (ASE), ensuring clean, high-quality pulses for nonlinear optics and spectroscopy .
