Material Requirements

Enclosure Materials: Indoor distribution boxes are generally constructed from cold-rolled steel or 304 stainless steel, providing strength, corrosion resistance, and durability for indoor environments such as residences, offices, and factories. For lighter-duty applications, insulating plastics like polycarbonate or fiberglass-reinforced plastic may be used to provide electrical insulation and impact resistance . Wooden materials are not recommended due to fire and durability concerns .
