Step 1: Preparation

• Cut corrugated pipes to the required length and wrap sharp ends with adhesive tape to protect the optical fibers during installation .
• Inspect cables for any pre-existing damage and ensure the pulling grips or tapes are properly attached to distribute tension evenly across the cable components .
• Plan the route using cable trays, ducts, or interlayer spaces, ensuring no other cables interfere with the optical fibers .

Step 2: Routing

• Route fibers along cabinet posts or designated supports inside equipment rooms, securing them as necessary .
• Use cable trays or ladders when leading fibers out from the top of cabinets; if the distance exceeds 0.8 m, a cable ladder is recommended .
• Avoid excessive bending or pulling, adhering to the minimum bend radius specified by the cable manufacturer .

Step 3: Bundling

• Arrange fibers tidily into a bundle before binding .
• Use optical fiber binding tape (12.5 mm wide, with a hook and mat side) to secure the bundle. Keep the mat side in contact with the fibers and the hook side outside .
• Wrap the tape around the bundle with appropriate tension, avoiding over-tightening. A single bundle can contain up to 100 fibers of 2 mm diameter or 60 fibers of 3 mm diameter; larger quantities should be split into multiple bundles .

Step 4: Securing and Protection

• Fix the cable to pulling grips for tension distribution during installation, leaving approximately 3 m of cable to remove any stressed sections before termination .
• Use figure-eight coiling for short cable lengths (≤30 m) to prevent kinking or twisting .
• Ensure proper barricades or traffic control when cables are laid on surfaces to prevent damage .

Step 5: Final Checks

• Verify bundle alignment and ensure no sharp bends or excessive tension.
• Label cables according to the installation plan for easy identification and maintenance .
• Confirm compliance with manufacturer specifications for tensile load, bend radius, and environmental conditions to maintain warranty and performance .
