Huijue Switch Optical Port Settings

Optical ports on Huijue switches can be configured for data transmission, LLDP proxy, and interface splitting using system view commands and proper transceiver handling.

Basic Optical Port Configuration

To configure an optical port on a Huijue switch, first access the system view via the console or management interface. Use the following steps:

1. Enter the interface view for the optical port:

   system-viewinterface 10GE1/0/1

2. Enable LLDP if the port will act as a proxy for PoE negotiation:

   poe lldp-proxy This is required when using a hybrid optical/electrical cable to provide PoE to an AP while the electrical port remains down . LLDP must be enabled on the optical port for negotiation.

3. Enable PoE++ compatibility if needed:

   poe legacy enable This ensures the optical port can check compatibility for devices requiring higher PoE power .

Interface Split and Merge

For high-bandwidth interfaces, such as 40GE ports, you can split the interface into multiple 10GE interfaces:

1. Split a 40GE interface:

   port split dimension interface 40GE1/20/1 The converted interfaces are numbered sequentially, e.g., 40GE1/20/1:1 to 40GE1/20/1:4 .

2. Restart the switch after splitting to bring the converted interfaces up. The original configuration on the interface will be lost, so save the configuration before performing a rollback if needed.
3. Stack considerations: If the split interface is part of a stack, the configuration is automatically delivered to new stack members, but the startup time may be longer .

Transceiver and Fiber Handling

• Always install transceivers before connecting fiber-optic cables to prevent damage .
• Remove cables before removing transceivers.
